Our Rush To The Doctors

On Tuesday we had to take Jayden to the doctors, he busted his nose with a plastic golf club. There was blood everywhere, luckily its not broken just a cut and a graze up the side of his face. He was soooooo lucky. Did he learn? hell no he almost did it again yesterday. So he has a clot at the end of his nose (doc said leave it until it falls off by its self) it looks gross.
Apart from that its been a quiet week, im trying to organise his birthday party for next weekend, the weather looks really bad and not many people have R.S.V.P'd yet and the party is next Saturday, it is so hard planning a party for an Autistic child you dont play the usual games or invite many people cos it frightens him. So my work is cut out for me. He will be 3 years old, where has the time gone??????????
After his party i will post pics, ill also put a pic of his injured nose, i had to get a photo (to show him when he is older).
Ive ran out of things to write about thats how boring our week has been.so goodnight i will right again soon......................

This morning Jayden said THURSDAY i was so proud of him. He actually said TURSDAY pretty close though ill take it as aword.
Hes at preschool today yesterday he was hyper which he has never been before apparently he couldnt stop laughing so they are starting to see the personality that we see at home. He is not the same kid around other people and he reacts differently at different houses too.
We have had a few rough nights this week but its improving, he decided on Sunday and Monday nights he didnt need sleep and niether did i, so we had 2 very long nights but its better now. THANK GOD!!!!!!!
When i dropped him off at preschool he had the biggest smile and went over to another kid and shared a toy together it was cute and again i was very proud of him he wanted to play outside but its a little cool this morning and looks like rain so they wont go out until later. Im trying to get him exited about Easter which as we all know is coming up soon ( 1 week after Jaydens 3rd Birthday) and the preschool are having an Easter egg hunt which i would love for him to be involved in i think those "normal" things could be fun for him. Plus they will also have a sausage sizzle for the parents as well so we can all get involved.
Enough about jaydens school, on to speech therapy, i have finally found someone who is willing to see him more than once. Only prob is its private so it will cost us but we are more than happy to give her a go and hopefully she works out and can really help us.For anyone out there who wants to get their kid into speech therapy you really are better off going private the community ones are stretch out amongst toooo many people and they cant keep up with the work load, So thats my advice for the day BE PERSISTANT!!!!
Ill be back in afew days bye.....

SATURDAY

So this is how our week has gone, Bens work hours are still only 8 hour days. Sure we get to spend more time together which dont get me wrong is great but........ the money is shit we are living paycheque to paycheque at the moment as most will understand. We bought a car last month so i can get my P's (provisional lisence for those who live out of Aus) so then we had to pay insurence( 1 years worth to be exact) that cleaned out our account, then in came the phone bill $440 for 1 month. Obviously i have to stop calling my sister so much which will be difficult as she is the only one in my family i can talk to about Jayden. The money i get for Jaydens dissablity dosent even cover his daycare fees, and he has an appointment with the paediatrician soon, thats 2 hours away from where we live.
So thats my probs this week, money!!!!!!
Jaydens been good though not really much to report on him, no tantrums, preschools going well for him and his eating is still about the same.
For those who dont live in OZ its Autumn at the moment and it is unseasonally hot, we are stiil having 35degrees celsius HOT HOT HOT.........So it wont be nice for Jaydens birthday next month he turns the big 3. We have a party every year (family only) this year we are getting him a talking tool bench, hes always trying to play with Bens tools so we though we would get him some kiddie friendly ones.
Hes playing with some magnetic letters at the moment and he just spelled out A B C all by himself ive only ever showed him that once or twice. Im relly proud of him Autistic or not that is fantastic for a three year old
So on that note i am going to play with my son....!!!!!!!

He ate a pie!!!!!!!!

Today was our nephews 10th birthday, he had a party and obviously we went, and guess what????? Jayden ate a Party Pie which he has never done before and he grabbed it himself we didnt have to coax him to eat it. Actually he ate all day which is really unusual he had Twisties and other snacks and he just had a great day all round. He played soccer with Ben and his brothers and of coarse our nephew. I have never seen Jayden so comfortable at somebody elses house before. so today was a good day, its 11:00 pm and he is sound asleep he went down around 6:30pm, he cried a little but then settled ok.
Monday tomorrow, we are going to Early Intervention(hopefully), Jayden hates going he doesnt like the house where its held and there are so many kids he feels a bit crowded i think. So i will see what kind of morning we have then ill decide if ill take him, I know he needs to go but i dont want him to be uncomfortable, and besides some of the other mothers can be quite rude and stuckup. Jayden is the only Autistic there and some of them dont believe that he is disabled because it isnt as obvious as some of the other disabilities, but i have medical reports that say differently. See this is the problem with living in small country towns, everybody is out for them selves and everyone else is left behind. Did that make sense??
Well thats my bitch for the day, i think ill end this now before i start telling my life story.

Update on Awareness week

I have organised a Picnic Day for Awareness week it will be held on Sunday May 21st. In Narrabri of course.
We will have games and activities for the kiddies and lots of yummy food and drink. Ive also invited other family members aswell not just parents because sometimes nannas and granpas need help and advice too. So my aim is to get as many people involved as possible and have a great day and have them leave knowing that there is always someone out there to talk to and who understand so hopefully we can create a support system for ourselves.
Thats all for this week i think, its been a quiet week so there isn't much to write about.'Till next time.....

Thank god for tv

I have 10 minutes of peace thanks to Jaydens fave DVD New Macdonalds Farm, he has tried many times to come down to the computer room but Ben has been very persuasive to keep him in the lounge room. I hate sitting him infront of the idiot box but sometimes thats the only time i can do anything without him.
I feel like s***t today i think i have Tonsilites, thats all i need Jayden had it just after Xmas that was a lot of fun taking care of him. At first i didnt know what was wrong with him cos he cant tell me but he ended up throwing up blood which told me there was something there. Im lucky he doesnt get sick that often though he has had a few ear infections. As all kids do.
At preschool on Fri he said DONT to one of his teachers so we are proud of that, he also stalked some of the kids and stole their toys. Normal behaviour!!!!!!!!!!!
Its a muggy day out here in the sticks i wish it would rain already.
jayden has had a pretty good day we had visitors earlier and didnt seem to mind, he helped ben with the house work this morning he loves the vaccuum. My peace is over now....

Recent Photo

Rainy Day

It is a miserable day today, i only have my L's at the moment and i had to get jayden off to preschool this morning and it was drizzeling just enough that we weren't able to walk so it took me 1/2 hour to track somebody down to sit beside me to drive. Its a pain in the butt not having a lisence but we get by.
Last night we took Jay to Maccas for dinner he was starving and he ate 3 nuggets (usually he will eat 2) + chips and he even had a couple of bites of Bens burger(never happened before) im probably the only mum who is proud that their son ate Maccas. If you new how little he ate .
So i have some ideas on awareness week 1-Australias Biggest Birthday
2-Picnic day for families in the region who are affected
by Autism.
I feel like i need to do something i can't be one of those people waiting for the government to do something, lets face it that ain't gunna happen. I am hoping our small country town can help me out they aren't the most giving of people unless its something to do with our show commitee or pony camp charaties its a pretty narrow minded and selfish town. People sell things down the main street for charaties and they walk by, its emarassing to be honest.
As a nation we need to stand up and say "Yes i will help a child" ist that what our future about our kids.
Well ive been on my soap box again and its time for me to get off.
'Till next time...................
